All About Me

Hey ya'll! My name is Kelsey. I was born and raised in Dalton, Georgia, a city known for its carpet production and teen pregnancy rate. In 2009, I moved to Macon, Georgia to attend Mercer University. I am a Global Health Major, and until I read Mountains Beyond Mountains, I had no idea what I wanted to do with that specialty. Mercer is a tiny, private school, so it was easy to get involved quickly. I joined Alpha Delta Pi sorority, where I met many wonderful women.

I also met a very important guy named Ian. Ian is from Glasgow, Scotland, and played soccer at Mercer. We happened to be walking to the same area of campus and witnessed an Opossum digging through trash. Since Scotland does not have Opossums, he was terrified and began shouting explicit words. Being the southern girl that I am, I thought it was hilarious that he'd never seen an Opossum. The rest is history!

He graduated in May and moved back home to study Quantitative Finance at the University of Glasgow. Luckily, Mercer had an exchange program set up with a school located 10 minutes from Ian's home. So, I spent six months with him in Scotland.

Living abroad was a wonderful experience for this small-town girl. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and opened my eyes to a beautiful world. I hope you enjoy my stories and laugh with me along the way.

XOXO-Kels
